WHAT IS WELLNESS?
Wellness is a very broad concept. To give a broad sense of what it means, think of wellness as being healthy in many dimensions of our lives. This includes emotional, physical, occupational, intellectual, financial, social, environmental and spiritual aspects. These dimensions are
interconnected and build upon each other. When we worry about money (e.g. debt or being able to afford what we need), we sometimes experience anxiety (emotional). This can lead to medical (physical) and occupational (occupational) problems. When this happens, we may even question our own (spiritual) sense of meaning and purpose.
We live in a multicultural world, and wellness encompasses areas that may not be identified in this brief overview. We believe, for example, that trauma is a universal human experience, and that our culture and our spiritual beliefs have an impact on our perceptions and everything we do. In a nutshell, wellness is about how we live our lives and the joy and fulfillment and health we experience.

STD AND STI TESTING
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs), also referred to as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), can cause serious health problems if left untreated. These include infertility cancer, blindness and organ damage. Sadly, more people are not seeking timely care for STIs. Many STIs have no symptoms or very non-specific symptoms that can make them hard to notice. Stigma surrounding STIs often discourages certain individuals from being screened. Yet checking is the only way to know for sure if you've got an STI.
If you were sexually active, it's a good idea to be checked for STIs. It's especially important to get tested if you're about to start a new relationship, you and your partner are thinking about not using condoms, you suspect that your partner has cheated on you, you've had multiple sexual partners, or you have have previous partners who have warned you or who now have symptoms of STIs. Also, if you, yourself exhibit symptoms of an STD or STI, it's advisable to get tested.

ABOUT FACT LABS
In February 2015, Fast and Accurate Test (FACT) was a place that only existed as a concept. In May 2016 the ribbons were cut on the doors of a business that we believe will set the tone for future health screening companies. Our store locations are independently owned and operated.
